As an evergrowing international non-profit, Global Conservation Force (GCF) aims to help communities learn about how to protect their natural wildlife. Our volunteers span across the globe, including our Australia-based Field Medic Trainer for Anti-Poaching Units, Chris Laursen. Chris has given hundreds of hours to teach others on techniques of emergency field care and conservation, and we aim to support him while he continues to help battle the fires in Australia.
Burning since September, Australia is facing a crisis amongst its people and native wildlife, some of which can only be found on this continent. An estimated 1 billion animals, comprised of hundreds of species, and 12 million acres of wildland have been lost to date. In order to preserve their unique biodiversity, GCF is aiming to donate to local Australian organizations dedicated to rehabilitate and rescue wildlife, as well as the restoration of lost habitat. We encourage people to donate directly to local non for profits, like Wildlife Information Rescue and Education Service (WIRES), or to GCF through our soon to launch “Support Australia” merchandise. 100% of the funds raised by our line of will go directly to our friends down under. GCF will also be accepting hand-made bat, possum, and kangaroo, rehabilitation items ( link released tomorrow will have attached are blueprints and measurements for crafted items) . Please feel free to send your crafty donations to: “Global Conservation Force
PO Box 956 Oceanside, Ca 92049”. We will also be working on the long term habitat restoration of the areas destroyed by the fires. We are focusing on the needs of wildlife, since so many have lots their home habitats. Once we launch our shirts and stickers, every purchase will fund a water and food station (ground and arboreal). Disastrous events like these remind us that, everything, including community education; urbanization standards; habitat restoration; biodiversity; as well as land, water, and wildlife management will need careful and measured consideration.
