One year in the gym!! Finally!! I’ve been waiting for this for sometime. I’m 10 days delayed in posting but on Jan 10, I completed one year in the gym. Proper nutrition and weight training is INCREDIBLY powerful and transformative. One year ago I was living in the dorm in my college and I was meal prepping out of a communal kitchen, with a tiny single room to live in. I had to store my cooking supplies on cloths on the floor of my room, and my perishable food items on my shelves alongside my books. The weather was extremely cold outside and it would often snow. I had an extremely busy schedule with 8 hour STEM labs back to back and I would have to wake up early to cook several meals for the entire day and then pack them in my backpack and go to school. Training wise things were far from easy as well—I had never stepped foot in a gym seriously for myself prior to this. I could barely last jogging for 20 minutes on the treadmill and had ZERO clue how any of the machines or weights equipment worked. Nevertheless while these were the challenges I faced, I made the most of the circumstances and used EVERY single day as an opportunity to grow and progress and ended up making a lot of progress and picked up new skills, practices, and a radically new lifestyle quickly. Alongside my physical transformation I had an incredible mental transformation as well. And yes, nutrition wise I am able to fit whatever I would want to eat into my macros and consume a wonderful balance of foods that I enjoy. This is what being in the shape of your life means—and it goes far beyond just the macros, calories. Grateful for how far I’ve come and what I have yet to accomplish.
