Gotta love a good #TransformationTuesday This has been one of the most difficult, yet rewarding “transformations” I have been a part of as a business owner. Lots of tears, sweat, and blood were shed during this process (and probably one too many curse words.) @thefoundation_westport has been an amazing gym to make into our own. We are so excited to have such an awesome, supportive TF family behind us! ♥️ Y’all are the real MVP’s! #JustGettingStarted #KCGym #KansasCity #Fitness

"When over the years someone has seen you at your worst, & knows you with all your strengths and flaws, yet commits him - or herself to you wholly, it is a consummate experience. To be loved, but not known is comforting, but superficial. To be known and NOT loved is our greatest fear. But to be FULLY known and TRULY loved is, well, a lot like being loved by God. It is what we need more than anything. It liberates us from pretense, humbles us out of our self-righteousness, and fortifies us for any difficultly life can throw at us."⁣⠀ - Tim Keller⠀ ⁣⠀ So go, take on the world together and never underestimate the value the friendship aspect of your intimate relationship holds.

Being healthy and fit doesn’t accidentally happen. ⠀ Being a successful, badass business owner doesn't accidentally happen. ⠀ Having a thriving, long-lasting marriage doesn’t accidentally happen. ⠀ Being a good person doesn’t accidentally happen.⠀ ⠀ ⠀ Each and every one of these things take WORK!⠀ ⠀ ⠀ -⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ You’re not going to accidentally get fit. It’s a consistent grind. It’s a consistent mentality. It’s a consistent effort to discipline yourself to show up, even when it is the LAST thing you want to do. ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ -⠀ ⠀ ⠀ All forms of success are made in the daily disciplines and grind that NO ONES sees! ⠀ ⠀ To be completely honest - There really aren’t many original thoughts. Those who are successful got successful off the same words we’ve been reading for years. Difference between them and the ones who aren’t successful is - They took action, the others didn’t… With that being said:⠀ ⠀ JUST START TAKING ACTION! ⠀ ⠀ START SHOWING UP FOR YOURSELF! ⠀ ⠀ START SEEING THAT VERSION OF YOU THAT BLOWS YOUR FREAKIN SOCKS OFF! ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ -⠀ ⠀ ⠀ #IamrootingforYOU #iam1stphorm

✅ Conventional Deadlift ✅ - The conventional deadlift is one of the most challenging multi-joint compound exercises in strength/hypertrophy programs. Your success with this exercise will be determined by your ability to execute the movement properly. Here are some useful tips: ➡️ Approach bar and set foot placement roughly shoulder width apart ➡️ Grip choice is up to you - Place your grip slightly outside of shoulder width apart ➡️ Set your position - shoulder blades should be in line with the bar with a neutral spine ➡️ Give tension in upper back to stabilize the upper body ➡️ Start the movement by driving the floor away with your quads ➡️ Keep neutral spine throughout the movement (think neutral gaze or chin tucked). ➡️ Your goal is to have the bar travel in a straight path during the movement ❌Avoid hyperextending at the lower back at the top - remember to drive through with your hips #iam1stphorm #wednesday #workout #formcheck

It is the first FULL week into this New Year and it’s a popular time for people to start new fitness goals and exercise routines!⠀ ⠀ This time can be a VERY intimidating place for newbies, especially females. (Trust me - been there, felt that!)⠀ ⠀ Keep in Mind:⠀ ⠀ - Remember nobody is REALLY looking at you. Everyone is focused on their own lift, their form, their reps, and how THEY look. You DESVERVE to be there just as much as anyone else.⠀ ⠀ ⠀ - Focus on form & proper movement FIRST. Then start upping the weight. When you have proper movement patterns you’re able to move more weight, more efficiently. ⠀ ⠀ - If you have a question – ASK! If you’re in a good gym – Staff and seasoned members will LOVE to show you around and help.⠀ ⠀ ⠀ - Free weights require more balance and promote activity of joint stabilizer muscles. I’d suggest working towards utilizing a combo of machines, barbells, dumbbells, cables, etc. but machines are an easy way start!⠀ ⠀ ⠀ - Hire a Personal Trainer! They will help to correct your form, give you exercises according to your goals and help keep you accountable! ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ This year could be the BEST year yet.⠀ ⠀ I’m rooting for you!⠀ ⠀ LET’S DO THIS 2020!⠀ ⠀ #IAM1STPHORM #NewYear #NewGoals #Monday #Motivation #MondayMotivation

I earned this SMILE because I gave up these 5 things and you should too! ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ 1️⃣Your need to be RIGHT - always be learning and open to new ideas!⠀ ⠀ ⠀ 2️⃣Making excuses rather than decisions. There is always going to be a reason to not follow through. Find the reason why you should and take ACTION.⠀ ⠀ ⠀ 3️⃣Letting the opinions of others control your life. Realize what YOU think matters the most.⠀ ⠀ ⠀ 4️⃣Holding grudges against people who hurt me. Learn forgiveness and become grateful for every situation because everything happens FOR you.⠀ ⠀ ⠀ 5️⃣Overlooking the amazing parts of your life. Be thankful for WHO and WHAT you have in your life now. Celebrate and tell them often how much you appreciate them.

Such a great leg day today - not pushing a ton of weight, but A LOT of volume work. Staples in this workout were 💪🏼 Pendulum Squats, Pendulum Pistol Squats, Reverse Lunges, Deadlifts, and Unilateral Leg Press 🙌🏻🚨 PS - @gustheenglishbulldog_ inserted himself in a few of my workouts today. 😂🐾
