I just uploaded a YouTube video on the piggy we rescued! For those who don’t know, she was abandoned on the side of the road, and I decided to take her in for the night and find her a good home the next day. Well, today is day 3 😅😅 All of the money we make from this video will go directly to her medical bills, so please watch and share! Thank you for following her story 🐷💕#thanksforthepigjerk #fromroadsidetoroyalty

Goodnight sweet girl❤️ This poor baby was dumped and found on a dirt road off the side of the highway. Paul found her and picked her up, and I agreed to take her home for the night, and to try to find her a good home the next day. In less than 24 hours I fell in love with her. I’m calling her Petunia. I don’t know if we are keeping her yet, we are giving it a week to see if she is a good fit and if she is happy with us, if not I have a few potential homes lined up for her. I’m enjoying every second with her. Last night she had a bath, and today we went to the store to get her a harness, and then she spent the day making new human friends and eating lots of treats. Now she is laying in her very own bed, fast asleep. Tomorrow she will spend the day with me again in Homestead. I really hope it works out, but even if it doesn’t for us, I will make sure she has the best home. I usually don’t ask for or accept donations for my personal animals, but I probably will be accepting donations for her- I want to take her to the vet because she is underweight, and may have a possible skin infection around her eyes. I just want her to be happy, healthy and comfortable. Many more pig stores to come. I hope you are enjoying her as much as I am ❤️🐷

Little but fierce, isn’t that how the saying goes? Daenarys (aka Little Dan) is an alligator we rescued off the highway a few months ago. She is missing half of her tail, and her right arm, and left hand. That doesn’t stop her though. She gets around just fine, and isn’t afraid to go up against the big boys when it comes to food. She is a survivor, and one of my favorite alligators. Gators have the amazing ability to heal, and withstand limbs being ripped off. They won’t bleed out like a human or mammal would, and they usually don’t need any antibiotics or assistance at all ❤️ Little Dan will live our her days at our alligator rescue at @evergladesholidaypark

A photo from the Peruvian Amazon! This is a snake in the genus oxyrhopus. This is a non-venomous snake, but there are SO many different colored, highly venomous coral snakes in Peru, and so many mimics, that it gets confusing!! There are red corals, aquatic corals, black ones with orange rings, blue ones 😳 The list goes on! The whole “red touches yellow kill a fellow” rhyme only works in North America, and even then there are variabilities and irregularities. It’s best not to bet your life on a children’s rhyme 😉 Epic shirt from @shapesinnature

The first picture is of me from this week, with Shane and Rafiki, the South African black footed penguins! I worked with these guys almost three years ago when I first moved to Florida, at Jungle Island. It was so nice to be able to see them again 😭❤️ I missed them!! They’re so much fun and these boys will always have a special place in my heart. When people hear the word penguin, they automatically assume cold weather and snow. There are 17 different species of penguin, and most of them actually live in warmer climates! Just like fingerprints, these guys have unique patterns on their bellies and chests. Thank you so much @kristy_echenique for letting me see the boys again 🐧 (I can’t believe how much different I look, I’m almost embarrassed to post the old pics 😅😂)#penguin #africanpenguin #southafrica

At first, I thought this little guy was a weird looking shell, or a weird rock! But I quickly realized he is a crab! 😅 This is a “flame box crab”. They get their name because they can tuck in their their legs into their bodies, making themselves look like a box! (Or a weird rock...😅😂) Apparently these guys can pinch really hard, and I wasn’t about to find out. He was quickly put right back, in a safe spot. Such a neat little guy! 💙 Wearing my new @realsaltlife bikini! Photographed by @gatorboys_chris. #underwater #snorkeling #ocean #crab #flameboxcrab

The Galapagos tortoise is the largest living species of tortoise in the world! This week, I visited Three Jay’s Tortoise Sanctuary, and got to catch up with my friend @jason3jsabels, and see some of the Galaps! I always like bringing them some cactus to munch on 😻This individual is Spike, the largest male at the sanctuary. It’s always so amazing to be this close to them, and interact with these Earth Guardians. They love it when you scratch their necks, and some will even walk up to you for attention ☺️. Thank you again, Jason, for letting us visit! ❤️ Photographed by @gatorboys_chris. #tortoise #reptile #galapagos #galapagostortoise #turtle #animals

Hanging out with Leia, the two toed sloth! There are two families of sloths, the two toed and the three toed! “Two Toed” is kind of misleading though; they have two toes on the front and three on the back, so “two fingered” would make more sense 😅. Sloths have the slowest digestive metabolism of any mammal, and only come down from the tree tops once a week to 💩! Their hair is coarse, and contains irregular gloves, making it perfect for algae to grow on it! Research has shown that there is actually a symbiotic (mutually beneficial) relationship between sloths and algae in the genus trichophilus! Algae provides camouflage and extra nutrients for the sloth, and in return gets a water supply! Of course, in captivity Leia doesn’t have to worry about any of that. She was born in captivity, and is an animal ambassador for her species at Jungle Island. Thank you so much @kristy_echenique for showing us around, and @lil_reptilianlife_ for introducing us to Leia! If you want some more fun facts about sloths, check out my story highlight “sloths”! #sloth #twotoedsloth

I went to the reptile Expo to get some worms for Zazu, and ended up meeting Jim from South Florida Herp Society! He let me hold one of the animal ambassadors he uses for education, a Florida Pine Snake! How cool!!

Tonight we got to visit @kinkatopia! An amazing kinkajou rescue that was created by my friend Alex ❤️ @kinkatopia is home to some rescued kinkajous, and Alex also works with people throughout the country, placing kinkajous in responsible, permanent homes when people can no longer care for them. These babies are SO spoiled, and have huge enclosures outdoors, and an entire kinkajou playroom attached to their house! They’re doing awesome work!! In the future they will be offering volunteer opportunities, as well as tours where you can go visit! Please give them a follow and show your support! ❤️#kinkajou
